The Santa Fe Municipal Airport SAF serves New Mexico's city of Santa Fe, which is renowned for its many restaurants, art galleries and Spanish-style buildings. Due to the airport's FAA classification, it cannot handle commercial aircraft with more than 30 passenger seats on a regular basis.
The Airport is located close to State Hwy 599, and accessible via I-25 (Exit 276), and is nine miles southwest of Santa Fe.
Aside from charter flights frequenting the Airport, commercial airline service resumed in June 2009. Currently American Eagle offers two daily flights to Dallas-Fort Worth year-round (with two seasonal flights: the early morning/late evening flights and one midday arrival & departure), and one daily flight to Los Angeles. Efforts are being made to obtain a direct flight into Denver from the Airport.
It is suggested that you arrive 75 minutes prior to your scheduled flight. American Eagle closes check-in counter half an hour prior to departure and boarding gate area closes 10 minutes before.
The passenger terminal at Santa Fe Municipal Airport, built in 1957 and recently renovated, is home to the Santa Fe Airport Grill, offering breakfast and lunch service--generally between 7:30am-3pm, and also provides catering service for all private flights. Avis and Hertz rental car agencies are located within the passenger airport. The Airport information line is 505-955-2908 ; fax 505-955-2905.
Parking options at Santa Fe Municipal Airport: Overnight / Long-term parking is available in front of the terminal building at $3/day.
